I think that you can use this color with any style, but I think that it goes really well if you want a classic feel to your wedding. Pairing it with white adds a beautiful sophistication to this color. Just imagine your bridesmaids holding white roses and tables covered in all white flowers on top of blue linens. You could also easily pair this color with silver to add a little sparkle. Finally, this is a natural color if you want a nautical theme to your wedding. By using this color and some well placed decorations, you could have the nautical feel without the overdone look.
This color is going to produce many gorgeous weddings so enjoy!
One of the reasons I like this color is that you can do so much with it. You can have a Tiffany blue and white wedding that will look classic and sophisticated. You could add black or brown as your second color and really play off the beautiful contrast. If you went with brown, you could even have the men in brown tuxes to help make your wedding have a unique twist. Maybe you are having a tropical or beach wedding, well then this color will work for you too. Not all colors can give you a completely different look just by how you apply it. Whether you want a classic, modern, beach or somewhere in the middle wedding you can use this color and it will be beautiful.
As I said earlier this week, I was at a conference where I got to see some of the new trends for the 2010 wedding season. One of the color trends is muted or softer colors. I wanted to show you more collages of pictures and decided the first one I would do would be purple (again, I love this color!). My other post (Jewel Colors – Purple) has been popular so I think that you will like this one as well.
I think that this could be a beautiful spring or summer wedding. I also think that you could add another popular color grey into the mix (see related Grey Post). It is so fresh and inviting, and I think it would make a great color for your wedding.
I am excited that jewel tone color schemes have come back. Deep purple, royal blue and green are back in a fun new way. Brides are using these colors well and combining them with whites, creams, silvers and golds. My favorite is the purple tones (maybe because that is what was at my wedding :-)) and have created a collage below to show you this color in all its glory.
As I have been hearing about the snow and ice storm approaching, it reminds me of one of my favorite winter wedding color schemes: white, silver and ice blue. I think that this is a wonderful color scheme that really captures the feeling of winter. The decor can have all white flowers. The girls can where a real pale ice blue and the guys could have silver vests/ties. Reception ideas are endless. You could be surrounded by candle light and lights above to give the effect of the starry night sky. Silver accents can be everywhere and when the candle light hits it, you will get the feeling of glistening snow. You can also add crystals to help with sparkle. You could add them on the table or even in a tree. For all of you brides that are planning a winter wedding, give this idea some thought as it will make for a magical night.
Also, if you are looking for great ideas and products, I would look at the link above for the centerpieces from Decorate My Wedding. I love her product and think that you could find some more wonderful winter wedding ideas.
One of the new trends in wedding colors is the combination of grey and yellow. I think that this is a great combination that can be used by many different brides. Here are two examples of using the same color combination depending on the type of bride you are. If you are a more classic bride and are having a spring wedding, you could have the girls in yellow chiffon dresses with gray trim holding white roses. The invitations could have a soft yellow scroll pattern and you could be surrounded by yellow and white roses in silver vases on your tables.
Maybe you are a more modern bride. This color scheme can work also work for you. Your bridesmaids could be in grey dresses and holding bright yellow flowers. You invitations could be a modern pattern in grey and yellow. Your tables could have yellow flowers in white vases on grey tablecloths.
Either way you would have a fabulous wedding color scheme. Also for each I would mix it up and have the men where grey tuxedos. For the classic spring wedding it would make the men look softer, and the modern wedding would give a touch of the unexpected. This is a great color combo that I think anyone would enjoy.
