We have been snowed in for days and it reminded me of a winter wedding we did last December. It actually was not as cold as expected for a December wedding, but the bride was prepared with a fabulous coat. She didn’t let cold weather get in the way of some great outdoor photos.
The other exciting thing about this wedding is our bride was our January Bridal Show Winner and she won help designing her wedding. One of the comments she had when we first talked was she really liked the long tables full of people. She did not think it would happen, but we showed her how she could mix both rounds and long tables together to create a look just for her. It turned out great and we could not have been more pleased.

This past weekend, I was able to help a fellow planner with a wedding in Terra Haute. It was a beautiful winter wedding at St. Mary’s of the Woods in Terra Haute. The couple were wonderful and had a beautiful wedding. Here are a couple of pictures.
As I am sitting here trying to stay warm from this arctic blast, I am reminded of winter wedding fur. Winter brides have the distinct pleasure of being able to wear fur for their weddings. I guess you could get one for a July wedding but you will be hot and your pictures will look a little odd. Fur (faux of course) wraps or coats can add a nice touch to any winter wedding and allows you to get that winter feel in your pictures. Many different styles are available from a simple wrap to a full coat to just a muff.
As I have been hearing about the snow and ice storm approaching, it reminds me of one of my favorite winter wedding color schemes: white, silver and ice blue. I think that this is a wonderful color scheme that really captures the feeling of winter. The decor can have all white flowers. The girls can where a real pale ice blue and the guys could have silver vests/ties. Reception ideas are endless. You could be surrounded by candle light and lights above to give the effect of the starry night sky. Silver accents can be everywhere and when the candle light hits it, you will get the feeling of glistening snow. You can also add crystals to help with sparkle. You could add them on the table or even in a tree. For all of you brides that are planning a winter wedding, give this idea some thought as it will make for a magical night.
